Lawrence Roy "Pepper" Garrett, 74, Jonesburg, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at his home.

Pepper, a dispatcher, was born July 25, 1942, in Jonesburg, the son of Emil Garrett and wife Nora M., nee Benney. He worked for Hunt Concrete for many years. Pepper enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time in the garden. He enjoyed visiting with friends, family and neighbors, and having fun. Pepper loved his family and had great pleasure spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Pepper is survived by his loving wife, Ruthie Garrett, nee Kosark, Jonesburg; one son, Kevin (Cindy) Garrett, Jonesburg; three daughters, Shannon (Curt Ridgway) Mitchell, Vicky (Steve) Veach, all of Jonesburg, and Sheryl (Jon) Glenn, O'Fallon; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emil Garrett; mother, Nora M. Garrett; three brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 106 W. Lions, Jonesburg.

A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at Jonesburg City Cemetery, Jonesburg.

Memorials to Heartland Hospice, in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred.
