US Air Force Sgt Walter Robert Capps, Vietnam Veteran, resident of Fayetteville, NC.

US Air Force Sergeant Walter Robert Capps was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Air Force, SGT Capps served our country until August 2nd, 1971 in Laos. He was 23 years old and was not married. It was reported that Walter died when his plane crashed. His body was recovered. SGT Capps is on panel 03W, line 121 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C.

He is the Son of Mr Arthur Gwyn Capps and Mrs Elfriede F Capps, 5204 Recorder Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28304.

He served with the 56th Special Operations Wing, 7th Air Force.

He was awarded The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and The Good Conduct Medal.
