Corporal Billie Grover Russ was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service, CPL Russ served our country until November 10th, 1968 in Bing Long, South Vietnam. He was 21 years old and was married. It was reported that Billie died from artillery fire. His body was recovered. Billie was born on October 1st, 1947 in Bladenboro, North Carolina. CPL Russ is on panel 39W, line 045 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for one year.

He was awarded The Bronze Star Medal, The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds with One Oak Leaf Cluster, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal and The National Defense Service Medal.
