Sally A. Palmer, nee Hunsberger, 59, of Green Cove Springs, died Thursday, September 27, 2001. Born in Camden, NJ and a graduate of Woodbury (NJ) High School, class of 1959, she was a longtime resident of Clay County. Sally was employed by the City of Green Cove Springs as a purchasing clerk. She was a member of Middleburg United Methodist Church, Fleet Reserve Association Brach 91 Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post 1988 (Green Cove Springs) Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer at Life Care Center of Orange Park and for Project Graduation in green Cove Springs. She was an enthusiast of luau hula dancing and often performed at area VA Hospitals. But most of all, Sally was known for her love of animals, and she took in and cared for many in her lifetime. A kindhearted and generous person. Sally was loved and will be missed dearly by her family and a wide circle of friends. She is survived by her sisters: Jo Ann Kersting of Orange Park, Judy Ponter of Monroe Township, NJ, and Dorothy Anderson of Middleburg; her brothers, Robert Hunsberger and Wayne Hunsberger, both of Thorofare, NJ, and Dean Hunsberger of Philadelphia, PA; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Palmer, her parents, Ann and Walter Hunsberger, and her brother Ralph Hunsberger. A celebration of life service will be held at noon Saturday at Middleburg United Methodist Church, 3925 Main St, Rev. Bob Wannall officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Clay County Humane Society, 426 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073 in memory of Sally Palmer.
