Janie Helen Melton King, age 73, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at her home. She was a native of Cannon County.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristy (Danny) Ruehlen of Woodbury; 2 Grandchildren, Lauren and Josh Ruehlen both of Woodbury; 2 Nieces, Carla Richards and Karen Harrison both of Murfreesboro; and Special Cousins, Buddy & Nancy Davenport and Kathy & Mike Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam & Lucille Young Melton and sister, Joyce Hirlston.

Ms. King was a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ and worked at Stones River Hospital in ER registration. She was also secretary over The Bryant-Myers Scholarship. The joy of her life was her two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday, Dec. 12, 2016 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, Dec. 11, from 4 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodbury Church of Christ or to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Association.
