Kenneth Bain Poole LUBBOCK-Kenneth Bain Poole died at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Raider Ranch.

Kenneth was born in Floydada, Texas, to J.T. and Ovie Poole on Dec. 14, 1926. He started school in the Antelope Community and then transferred to Dougherty Elementary School. He graduated from Floydada High School in 1945 and joined the U.S. Navy.

Kenneth and Bettye Kenney Poole were married on June 5, 1949 and lived in the Dougherty Community for sixty-three years.

He is survived by his only child, Lance Guy and wife, Melissa, of Dougherty; a granddaughter, Amber and husband, Scott Norris; and three great-grandchildren, Zach, Haley and Chloe of Lubbock. Kenneth belonged to the Masonic Lodge #712 of Floydada and Scottish Rite Bodies of Texas.

After retirement, Kenneth enjoyed visiting with his son, Lance and worked many long hours in his shop that he loved. Kenneth especially looked forward to being with his great-grandchildren; attending all of their activities and travelling with them. To his great-grandchildren he leaves a legacy of love for his Lord, love for his family, and care and concern for his fellow man.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Raider Ranch for all of their care and concern. They made his last years restful, enjoyable, and rewarding. Kenneth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Floydada.

He donated his body to Texas Tech University Medical School and requested that no services be held.

Memorial donations can be made to the Dougherty Cemetery Fund or the Floydada Senior Citizens Center.
