Peggy Compton, 78, Brentwood Drive passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Baptist Health of Lexington. She was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on February 18, 1938 the daughter of the late Fred and Julia Wells Donaldson. A lifetime resident of Mt. Sterling and a member of the First Church of Nazarene. Retired florist and previous owner of Flowers by Peggy.
She is survived by one son, James E. (Karen) Compton of Mt. Stering, Kentucky; one son-in-law Morgan Kelly Richards, Jr. of Bath County; three grandchildren, April Richards (Tommy) Reed, Lauren Compton (Dustin) High, Paige Compton (Cody) Hecker, eight great grandchildren, Brittany Reed, Amber Taylor, Mackenzie Robinson, Austin Reed, LeAnn Reed, Bryson Robinson, Jaxon High and Hendrix High.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Compton; one daughter, Jo Ann Compton Richards; three brothers, Clarence Donaldson, Bill Donaldson and Roger Donaldson; four sisters, Nellie Pergram, Hazel McClain, Josephine Boaz and Helen Hall.
Funeral Services will be 1 PM Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Kohr officiating with burial following at Machpelah Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday evening from 5-8 PM at the Taul Funeral Home.
