Jacob Shaffner Missing in Home Discovered Dead
Jacob W.Shaffner 78 was found dead in his home.208 Downs Ave. Urbana,early Monday afternoon.Neighbors became alarmed Monday because they hadn't seen Mr.Shaffner since
Friday.Champaign County Coroner Dr.David H.Moore said the man had died Friday night of a heart condition.
A natine of Shelby county,Shaffner was born November 20,1870,His Wife Ada Lee preceded him in death in 1908.
He is survived by three sons,Clifford of Conover route one,Otho of Longview,Washington,and James L.of Urbana,route three;four daughters Mrs Flossie Lewis of Piqua, Mrs Nellie Ropp of Urbana route three ;Dorothy Newhart of Springfield route four and Matillda Schnees of Plain City,thirty-four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are to be conducted at 2p.m.Wednesday at theHumphreys andson comyany funeral home.The Rev.Samuel Furrow.paster of theFirst Baptist church,will be madein the huntville cemetery.
