NARA War Department records list this soldiers Home of Record as Cook County, Illinois...Killed In Action.

His Douglas C-47A-DK (DC-3) went down near Pleuven, Brittany, having departed from Ireland.
It was part of the 1st Troop Carrier Command, 433rd Troop Carrier Group. It was on its way from Nutts Corner, Northern Ireland towards St Mawgan Airfield, Cornwall, England. Due to bad weather conditions, they got lost and overflew their target, ending up above occupied France. They were then shot down by 2 FW190 fighters from the 2nd Von Richthofen Squadron. The C47 crashed in a field near the town of Pleuven, Brittany, France. Four men were killed in action, 2nd LT Lloyd C Mahurin, 2nd LT Sidney H Jablowitz, Cpl Sam Kahn and Flight Officer Louis E Rapin. The only survivor is Sgt Cecil E Bell, the crew-chief.
