Lexie Cleo Thompson, age 96, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Lexie was born on Nov. 7, 1920 to her parents the late Tandy Wilson Mullins and Sabra Ethel Greer. She was the wife of the late Paul David Thompson, a homemaker, and a member of the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Lexie was preceded in death by six brothers, Sam, Alvin, Roby, John, Roy, and Maloy Mullins, and three sisters, Maggie Tackett, Flora Burke, and Ada Mullins. Lexie is survived by two sons, Ted (Libby) Thompson, Paul (Katherine) Thompson, two daughters, Linda (Duford) Powers, Reda (Darrell) Quillen, one sister, Mary Elkins, eleven grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 at 1p.m. at the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church with Dennis Elkins, John Elkins, and Danny Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Whitesburg.
