Services for Mrs. Lena Mae Herod Chandler, 81-year-old resident of Vaiden, were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church. Mrs. Chandler, a native of Kosciusko, died unexpectedly March 22, 1987, at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church.
The Rev. Mike Steen and the Rev. Horace McMillian officiated and Nowell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Doty (Audrey Elaine) Moorhead of West, Mrs. Cooper (Mildred Olene) Odom of McAdams, Mrs. Jessie Noel (Agnes) Goss of Vaiden; a son, Homer Sanders Jr. of Weir; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Burial was in New Salem Cemetery. Pallbearers were, Lamar Sanders, Toxie Moorhead, Billy Ramage, Jimmy Cain, Barry Tindoll, and Richard Moorhead.
