Wayne Robinson, 88, of Edge, Texas, passed away on December 10, 2016, at home with his family and friends present. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan and will be followed by a private family burial in Edge, Texas.

Wayne was born in Macey, Texas, to the late Victor and Molly Robinson. He married Janet Franklin on March 8, 1947, and they were married for 69 years.

Wayne worked primarily as a welder and rancher, but his true calling was as a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. He shared the gospel with all who crossed his path in both his words and deeds. Always taking a moment to be kind to friends and strangers alike, he was a humble example of goodness. He spent many years as a church deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Bryan and later helped establish the Edge Baptist Church of Edge, Texas. Wayne was also a dedicated and humble servant of the Masonic Order.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Sue Burditt; brother, Jackie Robinson; and niece, Racheal Robinson Ingram.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; daughter, Cindy Gressett and her husband, Jack, of Bryan; son, Jimmy Robinson and his wife, Sandra, of Edge; son-in-law, Jesse N. Burditt, III, of Bryan; grandchildren: Kimberly Anne Burditt, Jeremie Scarmardo, Bethlyn Burditt, Melissa White, Jamye Robinson, and their spouses; great-grandchildren: Cassie, Jesse, Emma Grace, Leslie, Molly, Mariah, Cameron and Amanda; other relatives and many friends.
