Shirley A. Malone, 74, of Arkansas City, KS, went to be home with the Lord on Monday morning, December 12, 2016 at Wesley Medical Center of Wichita, KS.

Cremation has taken place. The family will have a memorial services at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Dexter Christian Church located at 202 S. Maple in Dexter, Kansas. A memorial has been established in her name for the Cowley County Humane Society or the American Diabetes Association. Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City was entrusted with the arrangements.

Shirley was born in Winfield, Kansas on November 20, 1942, the daughter of Harley and Glorrene (Miller) Brinigar. She graduated from Winfield High School. She lived in Winfield and Arkansas City most of her life. Shirley worked several years for the Cowley County Home in Winfield. She also worked for the John Morrell Meat Plant and Ark City Warehouse Truckline. She retired in 2007. Shirley was a member of the Dexter Christian Church. She loved to cross stitch, knit, sewing and cooking.

Surviving to honor her memory are her son, Troy Malone and wife Sheila; her grandchildren, Tara Adams and Travis Wells and wife Jessica; her 5 great-grandchildren; her brother, John L. Brinigar and wife Linda and her niece and nephews, Joni Barnes, Ty and Tim Brinigar. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harley Brinigar, Jr.
