Mrs. Jane L. Jackson Obituary Wabasha
Sand Prairie resident dies at 81 yrs. of age, another pioneer of Wabasha. She died at her home at 9:00 Friday morning from Pneumonia, she was ill for 8 days. Funeral service from the home at 2:00, Sunday afternoon. Rev. Theodore Rideout off. Pallbearers were: Peter Schones, John Sheehan, William Schmoker, Lawrence Graner, Leo Schurhammer, & Bernard Sheehan. Internment at Riverview Cemetery.
Jane Griffis, daughter of Stephen & Elizabeth Lampman Griffis, was born at Malone, Franklin County, New York on November 22, 1852 and came to Sand Prairie when she was a child. Her marriage to John W. Jackson in Wabasha on March 29, 1869. She is survived by 2 sons:Samuel Jackson of Eau Claire and John A. Jackson of Sand Prairie, 4 daughters Mrs. J. L. LaBresh (Mary J.) of Jacobson, Mn. Mrs. August Schurhammer (Annie L.) of Kellogg, Mrs. Chris Schurhammer (Alice E.) of Greenfield ,and Mrs. Richard Krull (Ethel I.) of Minneapolis. 1 sister, Mrs. Anna Brunner of Wabasha, 1 brother, Albert J. Griffis of Durand. 12 Grandchildren & 8 Great Grandchildren. Her husband & 3 year son Bert preceded her in death. Mr. Jackson died on October 2 1916 in St. Paul. Out of town relatives attended were: Andrew Griffis of Durand. Mr. & Mrs. Albert Schurhammer of Winona, Mrs. Richard Krull & Lester & Miss Lila Krull, all of Minneapolis.
