Harold D. Sturtz, 91, of Morristown, Ariz., formerly of Washburn, died at home Sunday, Dec. 11.

He was born Nov. 10, 1925, in La Porte City to Arthur Sturtz and Alice Van Fleet-Sturtz. He married Mary M. Bennet on Sept. 8, 1945; she preceded him in death in 2007.

Harold attended schools in Brandon. He later served in the U.S. Navy and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Harold and his wife became a husband-wife ministry team and pastored the Calvary Cathedral Church in Waterloo for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Anchor Bay Evangelistic Association and was active in the community. They retired and came to the Wickenburg, Ariz., area in 1998.

Survived by three daughters, Sylvia (Richard) Beahr of Ennis, Texas, Sharon Myers of Wickenburg and Brenda Long of Morristown; his grandchildren, Rich and Brenton Beahr, Shannon Rousselow, Ashlee Sievert, Amber Schmidt, Christian Sturtz and Meredith Burkes; his great-grandchildren, Sheena, Chelsea, Drake, Meaghan, Tristan, Bella, Joel, Elijah, Dalton, Zoey, Aria, Jace, Bailey and Riley; and a brother, Lee Sturtz of Waterloo.

Memorial services 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 16 at Mount Hope Assembly of God Church in Wickenburg, Arizona.
