Billy Darrell Potter age 69, of Abingdon, VA formerly of Buchanan County, VA passed away Monday, December 12, 2016. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sue, his father, Kenny Potter and his mother, Etta Street of Cedar Bluff, VA, one son, Gary Potter.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Neal (Sandi) Potter and Wade (Shelly) Potter both of TN; one daughter, Kristy (Woody) Dykes of Garden Creek, VA; one step-son, Shannon (Karen) Nichols of Abingdon, VA; one brother, Kenneth (Ruth Ann) Potter of Breaks, VA; one sister, Kaye (Bobby Walden) Potter of TN and one half-sister, Karen Pienta-Szepytowski of Macomb, MI; two nieces, Koreen Newberry and Krae Christian both of VA. He is also survived by several grandchildren. He was a retired coal miner/electrician, an avid outdoorsman and loved the Lord. Absent from the body, present with the Lord and those loved ones who went before him.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Virginia. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Mickie Hale officiating. Burial will be private at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, VA.
