Nancy Edna Reese, 79, passed away at 5:20 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born Sept. 21, 1937 in Herrin, Illinois, daughter of Lawrence and Audrey (Starnes) Benedict. She married Wallace H. Reese on Oct. 16, 1954 in Chester, Illinois. He survives her.
Also surviving are her children, Scott (Lisa) Reese, David Reese, Richard (Carol) Reese and Kenneth (Celista) Reese; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Martin Reese.
Nancy was a member of The Lincoln Christian Church, the Red Hats and The of Logan County where she was announced the oldest breast cancer survivor in Logan County, Illinois. She enjoyed singing and performed in Harmony First, a chorus group in Springfield. She also enjoyed oil painting.
