SCOTT LOOMIS Scott Loomis passed away on November 29, 2016 after 8 months of battling metastatic cancer. He was born on February 8, 1961 in Paradise, Ca to Daryl Loomis and Sharon Richardson Loomis and attended Paradise schools and Quincy High School where he graduated in 1980. After graduating, he spent a year working for the California Conservation Corps. He was employed by Davey Tree and Asplundh Tree most of his adult life. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time on the river or the lake with his father. He looked forward to deer hunting every season with his father, grandmother, mother, sisters and son. Scott made a tradition of going duck hunting every Thanksgiving Day. Scott spent his early childhood in the Feather River Canyon in the remote PG&E camp of Caribou where he built forts and caught salamanders with his sisters. Scott was loved by many. He had a gentle disposition and a wonderful sense of humor. He was generous and genuinely cared about his friends and family. Scott believed that relationships, not possessions, were the most important assets in life. He will be greeted by his late father, Daryl Loomis who passed away February 1986, in addition to both his grandparents, Evangeline and Merrield Loomis and Ruby Rose and Milford Richardson. He is survived by his mother, Sharon Loomis Boggs of Kalispell, Montana and 4 sisters. Ann Gilley of Kalispell, Montana, Roxane Toms of Chico, California, Shelly Loomis of Coos Bay, Oregon, and Linda Paillon of Orland, California. Scott is also survived by two children, a son, Josh Loomis who is stationed in Guam with the US Air Force, a daughter, Sara Loomis of Spring Lake, North Carolina, and a step - daughter, Jacqueline Westlake of Grass Valley, California. Scott is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends. Scott was interred at the Sterling City, California cemetery on December 6, 2016. A special thanks to Dr. Sam Mazj and the Feather River Hospital Cancer Center oncology nurses and staff for all the care and support they provided.
