Edith (Edee) Victoria (McGovern) Schantz, 98, of Fort Washington, Maryland, died a resident of Givens Estate Nursing Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
Wife of Joseph A. Schantz, who predeceased.
She is also predeceased by brothers, Thomas, Paul, and Patrick McGovern.
She is survived by four children, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, as well as by two sisters.
Edee moved to the United States in 1942 to accompany her husband, Joseph, as he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
She and Joseph lived the majority of their lives in the Virginia and Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C.
