MANUELITO — Services for Lenita Adakai, 84, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 27 at Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel. Frank Adakai will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Adakai died Feb. 23 in Gallup. She was born April 17, 1919 in Manuelito into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Adakai was a homemaker, rancher, silversmith and weaver.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Adakai of Manuelito; sons, Frank Adakai of Albuquerque, Jerry R. Adakai of Fort Worth, Texas, Patrick Adakai of Tijeras Canyon, Paul Adakai of Tuba City, Ariz., Alvin Adakai and Justin Adakai both of Manuelito; daughters, Anne Mae Aarseth of Las Cruces, Rose Austin of Beclabito, Bessie Johnson of Garland, Texas, Pauline Myers of Farmington, Anita Adakai and Louise Adakai Lucero both of Manuelito; 23 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Adakai was preceded in death by her parents, Nasbah Thomas and Mr. Thomas; and daughter, Stella Adakai and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Jeffery Adakai, Preston Adakai, Ronford Adakai, Frank Aguayo, Harry Johnson and Orlando Molina.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
