Melissa Michelle Baldwin, 37, of Coal Valley, IL, passed away from a brain aneurysm on December 10, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Melissa Baldwin Benefit Account in care of IHMVCU.

Melissa was born on October 8, 1979, in Silvis, IL, the daughter of Bruce and Linda Grems Baldwin. She graduated from Moline High School in 1999. She married Tommy Ford on August 14, 2004, in Moline, IL. They later divorced yet remained friends. Previously, she worked for the Argus Dispatch in Moline, Shared IT in Bettendorf, IA, and currently was a credit representative for MidAmerican Energy. Melissa was a member of First Christian Church in Moline, IL. She was truly a giving person and in her passing was also an eye donor for the Iowa Lions Eye Bank.

Melissa enjoyed attending QC Paws Trivia Night and evenings doing Vino Van Gogh with friends. If she met a friend, she was their friend forever. She especially loved to spend her time with family and friends and her daughter, Makenzie, was her best friend.

Melissa had a passion for sports and loved the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. She was especially overjoyed to see the Cubs win the 2016 World Series.

Survivors include her daughter, Makenzie Ford; parents, Bruce and Linda Grems Baldwin; sister, Rebecca Baldwin; niece, Myah Baldwin; fur baby, Junior; step daughter, Devin Ford; step grandson, Gunnar; aunts and uncles, Mark (Cindy) Grems, Linda (Rich) Barber, Teresa (Denny) Lynch, Duane (Michelle) Baldwin, and Jim (Diana) Baldwin; numerous cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Mary Ann Grems and Glendon and Irma Baldwin; fur babies, Molly & Harley.
