Wilma was born on August 17, 1925 in Winslow, IN, a daughter of John and Violet (Cook) Madden. On June 14, 1948 she married Earle T. H. James in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1997. Wilma enjoyed working at Petersen Harned Von Maur in downtown Davenport and at the Rock Island Arsenal for many years. Her passion was being at artist which continued throughout her entire life. Wilma's interests included the Left Bank Art Group and YMCA. She was a longtime volunteer for a number of organizations and was involved with disadvantaged children. In former years she was an avid bowler. She was also a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Wilma inspired many people with her youthful zest for life and unique flair. Survivors include a daughter, Joni Davis; and sons, Cole, Todd and Eric; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and one brother, Chuck Madden. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shirley.
