Sharon worked for the city of Lincoln as a secretary in the finance department for 30 years.
She is survived by: daughters, Pamela (Brian) Bencken, Kimberly Cannady, Patty (Doug) Koom, and Pam (Terry) Smith; brothers, Rodney Merrill and Alan Merrill; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Porter, Jr.; parents, Robert and Virginia Merrill; and son-in-law, Mike Cannady.
Funeral service on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Sheridan Lutheran Church, Lincoln. Private family interment at Fairview Cemetery in Lincoln.
