ORANGE- Judith A. (Patnode) (Leduc) Barrett, 72, of East Main Street, died on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Charlene Manor for Extended Care in Greenfield.
Born in Montague on August 8, 1944, she was a daughter of Arthur J. and Hazel (Bourbeau) Patnode and grew up in Montague and Turners Falls.
Judith was married to Joseph Leduc who predeceased her in 1967. She later married Ronald W. Barrett, and he predeceased her in 2009.
Judith had worked as a nurse’s aide at several nursing homes.
Besides the love of her family, she enjoyed cooking, shopping, animals and dancing, especially polka and square dancing.
Judith was a member of Saint Mary’s Church in Orange.
Survivors include her son, Joseph Leduc and his wife, Carol, of Orange and their children, Joey Leduc, Sirenna Leduc, Tiffany Leduc, and Brandan Leduc; a daughter, Kim Carey and her husband, Michael, of Portland, Tennessee, and their children, Mikey Carey and Crystal Carey; a son Kevin Barrett and his wife, Melissa, of Greenfield; and another son, Donald Barrett and his companion, Sue, of Athol; a couple nieces, including Kathy Willor; and a very good friend, Sue Enko and her husband, Kurt, of Orange.
Besides her parents, Judith was predeceased by a son, Richard, and was the last of twelve siblings.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday afternoon, December 11, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning, December 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church, 19 Congress Street, Orange, with Fr. Peter Naranjo officiating.
Interment will be private at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
