Roger Duane Crawford, 75, of Yards Road, Nemours, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born on April 4, 1941 in Pocahontas, VA, he was a son of the late Wilson and Eva Chapman Crawford. He had been a resident of Nemours for all of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired mechanic for Joy Manufacturing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chrissy Williams; and a brother, Hampton Crawford.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Margaret Thompson Crawford; children, Anita Muncy, Rebecca Cochran, Duane Crawford and John Collins, all of Nemours, and Regina Williams of Abbs Valley; grandchildren, Keith Williams, Heather Sparks, Melissa, Virginia and Laura Hale, Stephanie Woodall, Crystal Muncy, Sarah, Samuel, and Samantha Crawford, and Noah Crawford; 4 great grandchildren, Austin and Kaylynn Sparks, Amanda Williams, and Parker Woodall; and a brothers, Carlos and William Crawford of Nemours.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastors Dewayne Belcher and Jim Kestner officiating.
Friends may call on Sunday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday at 1:00 at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA.
