On Nov. 3, 2011 Shannon Rae Randall Higgins passed away at her home in Redway, CA. Shannon was born on Feb. 9, 1964 at Redwood Memorial Hospital in Fortuna, CA and raised in Briceland. She lived most of her life in Southern Humboldt with the exception of a few years spent in Florida and Indiana. You always could find Shannon with her dog Prissy close by her side. Her favorite pastime was being Grandma Shanny to her two grandchildren. She is preceded by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Randall Sr., father Nelson Randall Jr., uncles Stanley Randall and Jerry Henry, and sister Susan Randall. Survived by her mother LaVerne Randall, husband of 25 years Steve Higgins, children Melony and Corey Higgins, step-daughters Megan Gerard and Kari Davis, grandchildren Trinity and Jayden English and Bria and Bryer Gerard, sister Cindy Behbood, brother-in-law Masood Behbood, nieces/nephews Amber Behbood, Lee and Lisa Shinn, and Hannah Bloomer. Graveside services will be held Saturday Nov. 12, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Briceland Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to LaVerne Randall's residence in Redway after the service to share their memories of our beloved Shannon. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Heart of the Redwoods Hospice and/or any cancer foundation. Please sign the online guestbook at www.times-standard.com click on obits.
