Kathleen R Corrigan, (nee Richards) age 79, of Rocky River died peacefully on December 6, 2016, surrounded by family.
Kathleen was born in Cleveland, OH to Gertrude L. and Howard J. Richards. A lifelong resident of the Cleveland area, Kathleen raised her family in Lakewood and lived for many years in Rocky River. She graduated St. Augustine Academy in Lakewood, OH, and attended Barat College of the Sacred Heart in Lake Forest, IL.
Kathleen was an avid gardener, golfer and a world traveler. She toured Europe with her husband, the late Hugh A. Corrigan, and also Asia and South America. Her passions included serving the community and her Catholic faith. She was a dedicated volunteer who devoted time to tutoring at St. Martin de Porres and serving society's most vulnerable with the Guardian ad Litem Project among other organizations. Kathleen was the loving wife of the late Honorable Hugh A. Corrigan, Sr. She was the beloved and devoted mother and mother-in-law of Colleen A. and Stephen M. O'Malley of Westlake, OH, Kathleen M. Corrigan of Olmsted Falls, OH, Mary E. (Molly) and Tyler D. Lipscomb of Westlake, OH, Hugh A. Corrigan and James W. Kemp Jr of Avon Lake, OH, and Daniel F. and Diana J. Corrigan of Lincroft, NJ. She was step-mother to Patricia A. Corrigan and the late Michael J. Corrigan (Jeanne). Kathleen was grandmother to Michael and Daniel O'Malley; Jack, Hugh, and Evelyn Lipscomb; and Charlotte and Connor Corrigan.
Kathleen was a loving sister to John Richards of Rocky River, OH, and Anne Lenahan (Thomas) (both deceased) and Tish Rahuba (deceased) (Bill). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Church of St. Luke the Evangelist, Lakewood, on Saturday, December 10 at 11AM with relatives and friends. Visiting hours are 4PM to 8PM on Friday, December 9, McGORRAY-HANNA FUNERAL HOME OF WESTLAKE, 25620 Center Ridge Road. Burial will be at Lakewood Park Cemetery. Family suggests memorial contributions to St. Martin de Porres High School, 6111 Lausche Ave., Cleveland, OH 44103.
