Donnie Alton Gray Sr., age 67 of Cloudy, OK passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Sherman, TX. He was born on July 18, 1949 at Lawton, OK.
Donnie was a 1967 graduate of Idabel Gray High School and was a decorated Vietnam Veteran. He served in the US Army 7th infantry. He was awarded several medals for his service including a Bronze Star which he received for distinguishing himself by exceptional heroism in connection with military operations against an armed hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam on June 11, 1969. Donnie served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam.
Donnie was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed riding horses, trail riding, fishing and hunting. He was a talented craftsman and woodworker. Above all else he loved his family and spending time with them brought his greatest enjoyment. Donnie was a lifetime resident of Southeastern Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Alton Gray and Bobbie Sue Hargis Gray; and a brother, Lonnie Gray.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Shirley Gray of the home; daughter, Karen "Skeeter" briggs of Ector, TX; sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie Alton Gray Jr. and Kathy of Idabel, OK and Aubrey Gray and Tammy of the Hollycreek Community, OK; brothers, Randy Gray and Carol and Danny Gray all of Idabel, OK; a sister, Karen Dodds and Harvey of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Tara French, TW Petty, Brittany Petty, Casey Treadway, Kyle Gray, Kortney Gray, Summer Wright, Lacee Carrell and Brylee "Tooter" Gray; great-grandchildren, Braedyn, Braxton, Isabella, Addie and Ella; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
