Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, Dubuque, where friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque.
She was born on Dec. 2, 1937, in Dubuque, daughter of Leroy and Louise (Kintzle) Brown. She married Jack Puckett on May 15, 1954, in Dubuque. Phyllis and Jack lived most of their life in Dubuque and later retired in Wauzeka.
Phyllis was a bartender for many years but spent most of her time as a homemaker.
She was an accomplished pool player. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and bullhead fishing in Lady Smith, Wis. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Phyllis was always there to help others and animals in their time of need.
Surviving are her husband, Jack, of Wauzeka; a son, Donald Puckett, of Epworth, Iowa; two daughters, Deborah Reisdorf, of Wauzeka, and Elizabeth "Susie" (Hal) Ostler, of Battle Mountain, Nev.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Daniel "Spike" Brown, of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leroy, Donald and Merlin; a sister, Kathleen; and a granddaughter, Tanya.
