She graduated from Van Buren High School, attended Monticello College for a year and came back to Van Buren where she worked for three years, then attended Ouachita Baptist University, after graduating she served two years as BSU director at Arkansas Tech, then entered nursing school in Little Rock where she became an RN, then worked at Fort Roots VA Hospital in North Little Rock until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Van Buren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Woods Bass; five brothers, Harry, Crigler, Henry, Dean, and George Woods.
She is survived by her sister, Dr. Bobby A. Woods of Alma; two sister-in-laws, Louise Woods of Van Buren, Gloria Jean Woods of Van Buren and several nephews and nieces.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
