Funeral services were held at 2pm this afternoon for George Johnson, 70, of near Essex in the St. Job's General Baptist Church near Idalia. The Rev G.A. Griffey and burial was heald in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
Mr Johnson was born June 24, 1881 in Shirley Ar. He had been a resident of the area for the past 21 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sally and her four daughters, Mrs Pearl Freeman of Sikeston, Mrs. Annie Alsup of Essex, Mrs Maudie Alsup of East Prairie and Mrs Lena Sims of Anniston. He also leaves a son, Harvey Johnson, and a brother A.C, Johnson of Essex.
