LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Monday, December 12, 2016 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Benjamin Perry, Jr., age 88, who passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 5:55 p.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. The Rev. Billie Massie, Associate Pastor of St. Genevieve Roman Catholic Church will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Karen Broussard. The songs will be Ava Maria, On Eagle's Wings, Here I Am Lord, and Amazing Grace.

Mr. Perry was a native of Opelousas and a resident of Lafayette for 54 years. He had been employed with Dimmick Supply Company for over 45 years. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, golfing and "Story Telling."

Survivors include three sons, Charles Perry and his wife, Phyllis, of Lafayette, Blake Perry and his wife, Jackie, of Breaux Bridge and Brent Perry of Lafayette; two daughters, Jackie Russell and her husband, Henry, of Abita Springs and Mary Angelle and her husband, B.J., of Arnaudville; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Dannels, Ryan Perry, Jarred Russell, Lance Perry, Natalie Benton, Bryant Angelle, Brandon Angelle, Christina Angelle, Kayla Perry and Danielle Henson; nine great grandchildren, Morgan Dannels, Ben Dannels, Emerie Benton, Maddox Richard, Nate Russell, Andrew Russell, Amélie Angelle, Eleanor Angelle and Rhett Angelle; and one sister, Willie Mae Billie Mackey of Opelousas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Creech Perry; his parents, Benjamin Perry, Sr. and the former Mary Elda Carriere, both natives of Opelousas; one brother, James Toppy Perry and by one sister, Georgia Perry Guidry.

A rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Concepts of Care Home Health, Lafayette General Medical Center, Dr. James Dobbs, Dr. Michael Alexander and his caregivers, Tammy Champagne and Heather Poirier.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Angelle, Bryant Angelle, Blake Perry, Charles Perry, Ryan Perry and Henry Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Perry and Lance Perry.
