Eunice Jones Lewis, a four year resident of Heritage Harbour Annapolis, MD, passed away suddenly at home on December 5, 2016. She was born in Chance, MD on December 10, 1929, the eldest of three daughters of the late Claude and Linda Jones. After graduating from Deal Island High School, she went on to Business College in Baltimore. She worked at Hutzlers and was girl Friday at Fishpaws Painters Inc. While working in Baltimore she met Don at a YMCA dance and that was the beginning of the next 60+ years of her life. After marrying and doing a stint in the Panama Canal Zone with Don and the U.S. Army, they settled in Faribault, Minnesota to raise a family. This was Eunices real passion, her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and later, grandmother. She enjoyed reading and cooking and could always be found in the kitchen on Holidays creating great dishes, smells and memories. She enjoyed taking care of her garden and flowers. In the early years she enjoyed camping with the family and traveling throughout the western states. Eunice was preceded in death by her daughter Victoria Ann Lewis and her sister Shirley Hurley. Eunice is survived by her husband of 60 years Donald C. Lewis, two sons Donald C. Lewis Jr. and wife Judy of Tucson AZ and David A. Lewis and Mary Jo of Fairfax, VA, grandson PFC Christopher C. Lewis of Fairfax, VA, and sister Frances Thomas of Oriole, MD. Friends and family may call at the John M. Taylor Funeral Inc. 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Monday December 12th from 10 to 11 a.m. where services will be held at the Taylor Chapel at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children in care of Boumi Shriners, 5050 King Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21237. Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault, Minnesota at a later date.
