Janet Rose Davidson, 76, of Bremen, passed away at 6:15 am, Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Community Hospital of Bremen. Janet was born on March 5, 1940, the daughter of the late Henry and Marguerite (Kieffer) Fleck. Jan worked for Stauffer Foam in Bremen for 20 years. She also worked several years for American Optical Safety in Plymouth and served as a union representative for a few years .She also worked several years at Walgreen Pharmacy in Plymouth. Jan loved horses and family, so she combined the two. In the summers, she and her family would race trottingbreds across three states. Jan was a bit of a pioneer in this sport. She was one of only a couple of ladies that drove her own horses in theses speedy and somewhat dangerous competitions. A few of Jan's favorite horses were Mighty Samantha and Shamrock Sandy. Card games, board games, bingo, and spending time with Jan's longtime friends of over 40 years, the Hollands (Bob and Sandy), were some of the things that she enjoyed most. Many hours were spent at the Holland's household, laughing, crying, and making life long memories that were cherished by her till her last days. Jan's health declined the last two years and she became a resident of Signature Health Care in Bremen. There she made several friends with residents and staff. Jan was very active during her stay. She competed in the Signature's Amazing Race Senior Olympics, taking the gold medal in bowling. One of Jan's most precious moments was being presented the Hall of Fame cafe' on October 13, 2016 by the staff at Signature. Jan was a warm, loving person who will be deeply missed by her friends and family. The family would like to express their gratitude to Signature staff for her emotional, as well as, physical well-being. Jan expressed her love for them many times during her stay. She is survived by two sons, Richard (Sharon) Davidson of Sturgis, MI and Joe Davidson of Howe, IN; three grandchildren, Keith Murdock, Robin Murdock, and Richard E. Davidson, II; and one brother, Dale (Linda) Fleck of Teagarden, IN. A memorial committal service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, December 12, 2016 in the Bremen Cemetery Chapel, 100 E. 2nd St., Bremen. Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Huntington Disease Society of America at www.hdsa.org
