Elizabeth Crawford Donald, 98, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016, at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington, Virginia.Elizabeth likes to say she was "hatched, dispatched, and expects to be dispatched in the Lexington Presbyterian Church." Elizabeth attended the Lexington Public Schools. She earned a B.S degree from Radford University and a M.S. degree from Virginia Tech. She taught school in Louisa, Norfolk, and Rockbridge Counties, was a Virginia Tech. Extension agent in Henrico and Rockbridge Counties for thirty-two years and a dental assistant for her husband Bruce for five years.

Through the years, Elizabeth received awards as an outstanding Virginia 4-H Agent, and outstanding Virginia Extension Home Economics Agent. She retired as an Extension agent in 1981 after a 32-year career. She was active with the Virginia Association of Home Economists, holding nearly every statewide office, and in 1961 she received a distinguished service award from the National Association of Home Demonstration Agents.She served as hostess for Collete and Mayflower touring companies for fifteen years, escorting tour groups to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, China and Morocco. She was also an active Bridge player and avid quilt maker. Elizabeth was a die-hard Hokie Fan and never missed a football game. Elizabeth has a special love for mystery novels and the history of the South.

Elizabeth was born on May 18, 1918, to Adrian Ballard Crawford and Carrie Elizabeth Hogue Crawford.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Louise Crawford and James Ballard Crawford; husband of fifty-five years, Doctor Bruce Herbert Donald; and daughter, Patillo Elizabeth Donald.

Elizabeth is survived by granddaughter, Grace Patillo Cole; son-in-low, Joseph Earl Tucker; nieces, Carrie Ellen Champine (Robert Champine) andMillie Steele (Lenny Steele); grand niece, Kelly Gorton (Brent Gorton); great-grandnieces, Winter Forest Gorton and Hazel Gorton; niece, Jane Ellington (David Zeke Ellington); nephew, Jack Donald (Constance Donald); great grand nieces and nephews, David Ellington, Megan Ellington, Peter Ellington, Anne Ellington, Scott Donald, and Jenny Donald; great nieces and nephews, Jullian Ellington, Joselynn Ellington, Anderson Ellington, Lawson Ellington, Charlotte Ellington, Elizabeth Jane Ellington, and Mackenzie Hope Donald; and goddaughter, Elaine Farrington.
