David Wesley Neely was born September 15, 1992 in Albert Lea, the son of David Thomas Neely and Nicole Johannsen. He grew up in the Albert Lea area, attending school in Albert Lea and Alden. David enjoyed basketball, skateboarding, and being with friends and family. David always had a passion for music and was very talented in his own right in writing and performing music. He also loved spending time with his dogs.

David is survived by his father, David (special friend Jackie Hamberg) Neely; mother, Nicole Johannsen; step-father, Jeremy Johannsen; sister, Elizabeth Swan (fiancé Lance Harmon) and nephew, Carsyn Morem; siblings, River Johannsen, Ryder Johannsen, Kolton Neely, Jayden Emerson, Tayden Closch, Griffin Neely, Kynadee Neely, and Bryson Neely; grandparents, Bob and Candy Neely and Ellen Swan; step-grandparents, Warren and Linda Johannsen; aunts and uncles, Bobby Neely, Jeff and Jennie Neely, Joey Neely and Brianna Meyer, Eric and Johanna Swan, Holly Swan, Leigh and Lori Johannsen; many aunts, uncles, cousins; many close friends, including Haley Cameron, Ashley Randall, and Jocelyn Pater (the love of his life); and his beloved dog, Ruckus.

David was always there for anyone that needed him no matter if he was not able to take care of himself, he would take care of others first. David’s heart was large and caring. He loved all living things, people, animals, anything of life. He had a laugh and smile that lit up any room. Fly high, Davers, you don’t need to run anymore. You’re free!!!
