Calvin’s love for travel made his choice of profession a perfect match. As a cattle truck driver for Tommy Thigpen Cattle Company, Calvin could travel and see the country.
He never met anyone who didn’t quickly become his friend. In his spare time, he loved to BBQ and tell tall tales. Calvin was proud to be the father of his only child, Calvin Collins, Jr.
Calvin is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Calvin Barton Collins & Birdie Mae Finley Collins; maternal grandparents, Robert Bruce Collins and Beulah Wilson Collins, his parents, CB Collins and Shirley Collins; and his sister, Judy Coleman. Calvin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, their three children, four siblings, his remaining uncle and aunt, Bobbie Collins and his wife, and countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services December 10, 2016, at Fairmount Cemetery.
