Georgia Alice (Harrah) Clark. Beloved Teacher and Friend,
formerly of Boston, MA, died peacefully at Greenspring Retirement Community in Springfield, VA on Saturday, December 3, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson Winfree and Mary Elizabeth (Barksdale) Harrah, and her brother Nelson Winfree Harrah Jr.

She is survived by her sister Mary Anne (Harrah) Lock of Sunnyvale, CA; her brother William B. Harrah and his wife Dianne of Clifton, VA; her nephews and her niece and her ex-husband Harold Edward Clark of Middlesex, MA.

Georgia was born in Welch, McDowell County, WV and lived there until her graduation as class Valedictorian from Welch High School in 1943. She received her B.A. in Spanish and English from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in 1947 and her M.A. in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin in 1949. She was a member of Sigma Delta Pi, Phi Sigma Iota, and Phi Beta Kappa.

A dedicated teacher, who held deep concern for the needs of her students, Georgia taught Spanish and ESL for 44 years before retiring in 1991. She settled in Boston in 1964. She also traveled extensively.

Georgia enjoyed her 40 years of active living in Boston's historic Beacon Hill where she was within easy walking distance of schools where she taught.
She will always be remembered for her boundless love of life, refined and gentle character, and deep devotion to friends and family.

Georgia will be laid to rest beside her parents in Spring Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, Virginia.
