Margaret Baker was born in Franklin Co., North Carolina to James Baker and Martha "Patsy" Williams about 1828. She married Willie Nichols in Franklin Co. 27 May 1850. They lived in Johnston Co., North Carolina and later moved to Prairie Co., Arkansas in 1859. They settled at Walnut Plains (which became Walter's Chapel). Margaret died there as a prolonged result of childbirth complications. She does not have a headstone.

Gravesite Details
There is a Nichols family plot under / around the cedar tree shown in the picture. However, the tree has been removed because of a tornado that knocked it down. There is a large tree stump there now, and two headstones that have survived.
