Mrs. Julia "Judy" Kathryn Bowling Long, 79, a resident of Clara, MS passed from this life on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro. She was born in Hattiesburg on Thursday, July 22, 1937 to Mr. Selby Clark and Mrs. Ochie Mae Sumrall Bowling. She was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church and was retired from the Hattiesburg Public School System where she had taught for 23 years. Mrs. Long is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse F. Long, Jr.; mother, Ochie Mae Bowling; father, Selby C. Bowling. She is survived by her son, Jesse Long, III (Rhonda) of Clara; 2 brothers, Rev. Robert Bowling of Cumming, GA, John Bowling of Dalton, GA; sister, Peggy Gates of Dacula, GA; granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Long of Clara. Visitation for Mrs. Long will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 8, 2016 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM with a short lie-in-state from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, December 9, 2016 from the Court Street United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg with Rev. Mark McNair, Rev. Brad Corban, Rev. Bob Bowling, and Rev. Hank Winstead officiating. Interment will be in Roseland Park Cemetery in Hattiesburg.
