Shirley Fama Cherry went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the age of 79. She was born August 12, 1937 in Paoli, Oklahoma to her parents, Buck and Dorothy (Dixon) Loyd. On April 14, 1957, Shirley married the love of her life, Frank Cherry. In 1961, Shirley and Frank started Cherry’s Transfer Inc. They operated this business until they sold it in 2002. Shirley was an avid reader and loved to travel and take her family on trips. She was a fan of whatever her children and grandchildren were involved in and went to all their games and volunteered countless hours for all of their activities. Shirley loved OU Football and the OKC Thunder! We have loved knowing the most strong, courageous and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. You will be missed by all of your family.

She was preceded in death by her:
Parents Buck and Dorothy Loyd
Husband, Frank Cherry
Brother, Edward Loyd

She is survived by her loving:
Daughter, Carmaletta Lara and her husband, Manuel Lara;
Daughter, Kimberly Cherry;
Daughter, Pamela Honeysuckle and her husband, Marvin;
Grandchildren: Dennis Dear, II, Antonio and Dallas Loffi-Lara, Christina Lara, Misty Honeysuckle, Stormie Honeysuckle, Justin Honeysuckle and Montana McVey, Cherrie and Lance Moe, Kyla and Isaias Molina and Morgan-Marie Wright;
Great grandchildren: Alexis, Dennis, Mason and Adrianna Dear, Joshua Loffi-Lara, Elizabeth Coombs, Serenity Laughlin, Liam Laughlin, Kaleb McVey and Baby Honeysuckle;
Several nieces and nephews including, Jessie and Kari Cherry and Nellie Daniels.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, December 10, 2016, at the South Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow at 12:00 Noon at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, OK. Friends may leave condolences for the family at vondelsmithmortuary.com
