Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, in the chapel at Melton-Riddle Funeral Home with the Rev. Lloyd Fish officiating. Burial was in Parris Cemetery.
A native of Blount County, Tenn., she had lived in Jackson County for most of her life. She worked in the personnel department at Western Carolina University and was the daughter of the late James and Juanita Walker Gibson. She was raised by a great-aunt and uncle, Viola and Roy E. Jones.
Surviving are her husband, Joe Bryson McClure; one daughter, Sherry Phillips of Sylva; one son, Brian McClure of Sylva; and two grandchildren.
