JoAnn Stevens, age 81, of Spring Valley died Saturday, December 3, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

Memorial service for JoAnn will be Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Lake Lutheran Church, Spring Valley, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 6 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley.

JoAnn was born December 1, 1935 to LeRoy and Mildred (Hill) Ankney at Wheeler, Wisconsin. She attended Wheeler Elementary School and graduated from Colfax High School with the Class of 1954.
On November 17, 1954 JoAnn was married to Donald Stevens in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They lived in Douglas, Arizona for a few years while Donnie served in the U.S. Army. They moved to St. Paul and lived there for 5 years before moving to Spring Valley in 1961. They have lived in Spring Valley ever since and wintered in Arizona for 29 years.
JoAnn worked at Jack’s Super Value in Spring Valley, sorted mail at the Spring Valley Post Office and also did home assembly. She loved to read, knit and crochet, listen to music and follow the Packers. She and Donnie loved to travel and had visited Canada, Mexico, Hawaii and many U.S. States. She also loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son and infant daughter Jayne Marie; 3 brothers: Jack, Marshall, and William Ankney; 2 sisters: Betty Reid and Geraldine (Larson) Reim; and son-in-law Larry Aamodt.
Survivors include her husband Donnie of Spring Valley; 3 daughters: Shelli (Tim) Wood of Spring Valley; Suzanne Duchane of River Falls; and Julie Aamodt of Spring Valley; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 brother Jim (Bonnie) Ankney of Kenosha; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
