Christine N. Akers, 67, of Needmore, PA passed away Tuesday, December 6th, 2016 at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.
Christine was born in Needmore, PA on December 25, 1948, the daughter of Hazel A. (Palmer) Clevenger of Needmore, PA and her late step-father Boyd C. Clevenger.
As a child, she attended the Sideling Hill Christian Church in Needmore, PA, was a former member of the Needmore Volunteer Fire Company's Ladies Auxiliary, was caretaker of the Sideling Hill Baptist Cemetery in Needmore, PA and also was a lifelong farmer.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by sister RuthAnn (wife of Timothy) Close of Berkeley Springs, WV, brother Roger W. (companion Sandy Henning) Akers of Raton, NM, niece Melette (wife of Chris) Patterson of Chambersburg, PA, nephew Aaron (husband of Jessica) Close of Berkeley Springs, WV, four great nieces and two great nephews.
Religious Service at Cedar Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 9th, 2016 with Pastor Timothy Close and Pastor Bill Swope officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, December 9th, 2016 from 10 AM to 11 AM at Cedar Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, PA.
Interment will be private.
