The Burns/Godfrey family lost their family matriarch and beloved grandmother

Irma Jean Kleysteuber/James passed away peacefully and on her own terms on January 29th 2016.

Grams as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren provided guidance, comfort and love (and yes financial support) for her family her entire life

Grams was born in Marion County in Illinois on March 17th 1920 to James H Meridith and Jennie M. Meridith (nee Leith). She was the youngest of 7 children in the family.

It was in Sandoval Illinois that Irma met her future husband Frederick R. Kleysteuber. They married and had one daughter Nina Marie Burns/Erbe (nee Kleysteuber).

As Fred’s job in the oil industry required him to relocate to Montana, Grams and Nina rode the train to Chinook.

Grams always described her arrival as being just like arriving in a wild west movie. During her life in Montana Irma lived in Chinook, Sydney, Billings and Roundup.

Grams was always a hard worker and constantly improved her skills in the accounting field.

With the passing of her first husband Fred, Irma after several years met Ed James and married him. During their marriage they lived in Billings and Sun City Arizona.

Grams is survived by her three grandchildren Linda (Roger) Godfrey, Fred (Chris) Burns and Frank (Patty) Burns. In addition she had 6 great grandchildren Justin Godfrey, Cole Godfrey, Landon, Godfrey, Rhett Godfrey, Emily Burns and Erin Burns, along with 6 great-great grandchildren.

Grams will be sorely missed by her family.

The funeral will be at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Roundup with interment in the Roundup Cemetery on December 10th at 11:00 AM.
