Son of Phillip Earp and Sarah Vaughan. There is some evidence that John was married to Lucy Jane Wallace. Phillip's father was William Berry Earp Harp Sr. (1729-1778). Apparently, because of the revolutionary war, William changed his name from Earp to Harp. Phillip must have wanted to keep the name Earp. Somehow, John Lewis Harp (this man) was never known by Earp. John Lewis Harp is a brother to Walter Earp who is the grandfather of the infamous Earp brothers.

Sarah L. Vaughan Earp Harp could be the sister of William Patrick Vaughan (FAG record 46112553).

More to come later.
