Bettye (Aston) (Chandler) Carroll was born on June 3, 1926 in Lawrence County, Alabama, the daughter of Fred Cleveland Aston (1888–1949) and Annie Magnolia (Smith) Aston (1891–1928).


She was married 1st to Joseph Wilson "Joe" Chandler Jr (1926–1991), the son of Joseph Wilson Chandler Sr (1880–1945) and his 2nd wife Dera Clair (Wood) (Chandler) Knox (1893–1979). Bettye was married 2nd to Bill Carroll.


A member of Crieve Hall Church of Christ, she was living in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee and was 90 years old and a widow when she died December 5, 2016.


Bettye was preceded in death by her husbands and by her brothers Boyce Aston and Fred Aston, while survivors included two Chandler sons and a daughter-in-law, a grandson, two great-grandsons, a brother and several nieces and nephews.


Graveside Services were held in Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna, Tennessee.
