Bobby Anderson Gregory, 90, of Dunkirk, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at Brooks Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 12, 1926 in Mississippi, son of the late Louis and Irene (Brown) Gregory.
A Veteran of the US Army as a PFC, he served in Germany and received the WW II Victory Medal, the German Occupation Medal and most recently received the 2016 Chautauqua County Veterans Recognition Certificate on Oct. 12, 2016, his 90 birthday.
Bobby retired from Cliffstar Corporation as an over the road truck driver at the age of 70. He enjoyed his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and had driven it over most of the USA.
A very kind and giving person, he was known by everyone.
Surviving are three nieces and a nephew, all in Indiana; as well as great nieces and great nephews also survive along with his adopted family and K9 Companion “Dog.”
Preceded in death in addition to his parents is a sister, Sallie Mae Brown Sharp in 1988.
A committal prayer by Rev. Zoe White Milliman, along with a Veterans Military salute by Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council will be at Willowbrook Park Cemetery in Dunkirk on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Columbarium.
Memorials can be made to Hospice of Chautauqua County, 20 Fairmount Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750. Arrangements are by the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk. A message of remembrance can be left for the family at rmackowiak.com.
