Georgia Claudine "Dean" Newman Taylor was born in Quitman, Arkansas on September 24, 1927 to Orville "Bob" Newman and Bettie Jackson Newman. Dean graduated from Floyd High School in Floyd, Arkansas. It was there she met her husband Finis "Buddy" Taylor. They were married sixty-six years at his death. Dean and Buddy owned Taylor's Antiques in Little Rock and later in Romance, Arkansas.
