Helen Mae Goodman, 76, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Golden Creek Healthcare in Navasota, Texas. She was a former Sweetwater resident.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.
Ms. Goodman was born in Loraine, Texas. She was a long time member of Greater Zion Baptist Church in Sweetwater and True Vine Baptist Church in Navasota the last 6 years. Helen had lived in Sweetwater for 52 years and was a homemaker.
Survivors include: sons-Johnnie Mac Cunnings and wife, Ester, of Sweetwater, James Edward Goodman and wife, Sheree, of Waco, TX, Thomas Goodman and wife, Lurinda, of College Station, TX, Patrick Goodman and wife, Crystal, of Navasota, TX; daughters-Olivia Degrate and husband, Delano, of Waco, TX, Angela Goodman of Navasota, TX, Rhonda Goodman of Navasota, TX; stepson-Charles Smith of Dallas, TX; brother-Arthur Starling of Sweetwater, TX; sister-Lela Jones of Los Angeles, CA; aunts-Margaret Ann Walker of California, Imogene Saddler of Sweetwater, TX, Martha Vela of Austin, TX; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Mae (Langley) Starling; her father, Joe Starling; two brothers, Johnny Mac Starling and David Starling; and a sister, Mary Ann Marshall.
Pallbearers are Junior Hunt, Charles Walker, Tommy Williams, Johnathan Atkins, Johnny Cunnings, Jr. and Jamar Goodman.
